KABUL: 16 suspected criminals were detained in the latest crackdowns conducted by the Kabul police beef up security situation in the city as the residents are worried over its deterioration.
The arrests were made from 5th, 10th, 15th, 16th 17th and 19th PDs of Kabul city, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
They are accused of armed robberies, plundering, stealing of vehicles and mobiles of the citizens in the respective areas, according to the ministry.
Three rifles of pistols and a vehicle have also been discovered and confiscated from them.
Moreover, a tanker vehicle that was stolen earlier from Parwan province, was also discovered and handed over to its owner, the statement added.
Their cases have been referred to the judicial organs for further inquiry and proceeding.
