AT-KABUL: President Ashraf Ghani in a visit to a police district, suspended a police officer for being careless while on duty, presidential office said Monday.
“President Ghani made a supervised visit to the Kabul’s Police District 9 Sunday night,” president’s office said in a statement.
It added that the head of the police district and a number of his colleagues were absent while the president’s visit.
“President Ghani ordered suspension of the police chief and number of officers who were not present on duty.”
“Police should be a good servant for the people and they should be on full duty so people could rest,” Ghani was quoted by the statement as saying.
The president ordered the ministry of interior to seriously probe the case and share the outcome with presidential palace, the statement underlined.
