KABUL: At least 8,000 complaints relating to the October 20 legislative election have been so far registered, the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission said Tuesday, adding that most of the complaints were for the Independent Election Commission’s employees.
Most of the complaints were about violations and fraud made by the election commission’s workers that would be soon probed.
Meanwhile, former officials of the election commission say that the two commissions were not able to probe the complaints.
The electoral complaints commission said it was receiving complaints since the first day of election.
They assure that the complaints would be probed timely and transparently.
Noor Mohammad Noor, former spokesman of the election commission said that the complaints commission would not be able to probe the complaints transparently and impartially.
Meanwhile, members of parliament say that the election was full of disorder and fraud, adding that voters’ turnout was much lower than the voter registration that brought election’s legitimacy under question.
The independent election commission is yet to comment on the probe of complaints by the complaints commission, but clarified that most of problems were related to the use of biometrics system that was imposed on them.
