KABUL: President Ashraf Ghani met on Monday with Huseyin Avni Botsali, ambassador of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) to Kabul, discussing the Afghan peace process and the upcoming consultative Loya Jirga (Grand Assembly) planned to be held next month to discuss the peace efforts.
Botsali said that the Organization of Islamic Conference was ready to assist with the government and the people of Afghanistan regarding the peace process.
President Ghani thanked the conference for cooperating with Afghanistan and expressed his gratitude to the successful holding of the International Conference of Ulema in Jeddah which discussed peace process in Afghanistan, saying that the conference had positive result.
“We hope the Organization of Islamic Conference continues its valuable sessions against terrorism and extremism,” said the president.
