Kabul: After revealing the killing of dozens of Afghans by British Special Forces, the UK government has announced the beginning of an investigation into the killing of Afghan civilians a decade ago by its country’s military.
This investigation began after UK Ministry of Defense published a BBC TV report in early 2022 regarding the allegations that British Special Forces during their presence in Afghanistan killed dozens of Afghan civilians in night operations.
According to a BBC investigative report, a British Air Force unit killed 54 Afghan civilians in “suspicious circumstances” during their six-month mission (November 2010 to May 2011) in Helmand province.
Earlier, the British police conducted several investigations into the allegations of killing Afghans by the British forces in Afghanistan, but the British Ministry of Defense said that there was not enough evidence to prosecute those soldiers.
