By Akhtar M.Nikzad-KABUL: A number of political parties, civil society activists, intellectuals and religious scholars came together in a session to form a political alliance and find a solution to the current crises.
Participants of the session expressed their concerns over deepening challenges and urged the government to convene the traditional Loya Jirga to resolve the crises.
Speaker of the session said that mounting insecurity, illegal migration of Afghan youth to foreign countries, widespread corruption, nepotism, poverty, and differences between the two leaders of the National Unity Government (NUG) eventually will push the country into an extreme bleak future.
They said that calling Loya Jirga is the only remedy to the current challenges.
The session was organized by Unity and Freedom Movement of Afghanistan.
Tariq Hashimi, a member of the movement, said that Afghanistan is facing numerous challenges and people have also lost their trust on the government. He added that leaders of the NUG failed bring the country out of the current crises. He stressed on alliance among political parties to put end to the challenges.
The chairman of Unity Party of Afghanistan, Muhammad Omer Nohzat, said that the only solution to the current political crises is convening the traditional Loya Jirga to immediately announce new presidential elections. “People want traditional Loya Jirga to either announce new presidential elections, or form an interim administration to replace the NUG,” he added.
The political parties also issued a resolution, where they urged the government to call a Loya Jirga to decide over the fate of the country.
