Kabul: Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar emphasized in the UN general assembly that Afghanistan should not become a base of terrorist and extremist groups.
He asked the United States and the Islamic Emirate to respect the Doha Agreement and preserve its achievements, which facilitated the withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan.
In his speech, Emir of Qatar, in addition to protecting civilians, emphasized respect for human rights and girls’ access to education in Afghanistan.
The government of Qatar has a very strong relationship with U.S. and the Taliban.
This country hosted peace talks between the United States and Taliban in Doha for about two years.
