AT-KABUL: Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs, Faiz Muhammad Usmani, has presented 100-day plan to President Ashrafi Ghani here on Tuesday.
The minister said that preparations are underway to facilitate Afghans who want to perform the Hajj.
He said that 24,000 computerized passports would be issued to those who want to make the pilgrimage.
Accommodation in Mecca and Madina near the holy places, transportation facility round the clock and materials containing important information would be provided to Afghans during the pilgrimage, he added.
Usmani said that 125,000 square meters carpets would be distributed among the imams for mosques. “Qualified people, through an exam, will be hired as imams of the mosques. The imams will get text of Friday sermons from the Hajj and Religious Affairs Ministry,” he said.
President Ghani said that performance of the ministries would be assessed on regular basis.
