AT-KABUL: Some clerics in the Kabul city asked the government to call the traditional Loya Jirga (Grand Assembly) for finding a solution for what they called “the current crisis”.
The scholars during the Friday prayers, accused the government of inefficiency, saying this has caused the increase of “unprecedented civilian casualties”. They said some individuals have taken the power, but they are dealing the lives of the people.
The clerics believe that continuing the current situation meant continuing of crisis and problems, asking the people to stand for determining their destiny.
“Loya Jirga means consultation which God the almighty has allowed,” said a scholar in a Kabul mosque. “The Loya Jirga is a nationwide assembly through which, representatives of people will discuss to find a solution, thus, the Jirga should be called and given opportunity to make decision for the country and people’s destiny.”
