Kabul: Sanaullah Ghafari, also known as Shahab al-Muhajar, the leader of ISIS’s Khorasan branch, reportedly resides in Pakistan’s Baluchistan province, according to Reuters news agency.
Previously, Pakistani authorities had declared Ghafari’s death in Afghanistan’s Kunar province last June, but Reuters now asserts that he has relocated to Pakistan, residing in the border province of Balochistan.
This newspaper also reported on the recent terrorist attack in the suburbs of Moscow, stating that although the ISIS terrorist group may have lost its presumed caliphate, its branches have spread worldwide.
According to the newspaper, the faction believed to be behind the Moscow attack is ISIS-Khorasan, based in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
It has been said that ISIS-Khorasan has been recruiting immigrants and militants from Central Asian countries for a long time and has trained them to attack in Russia.
