KABUL – Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, has called for the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan during a UN Security Council meeting, emphasizing its importance for regional peace and stability. Nebenzya urged global engagement with the Taliban but stressed that such interactions should be free from coercion.
He highlighted the ongoing threat posed by ISIS-K, noting that while the Taliban has made efforts to suppress the group, it remains active and continues to recruit foreign fighters, posing a significant security risk to Afghanistan and its neighbors.
