Kabul: Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s special presidential representative for Afghanistan and Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Second Asia Department, informed TASS news agency that a delegation from the Taliban in Afghanistan has been invited to attend the Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum in May. The forum, focusing on international economic issues, is scheduled to take place in Kazan from May 14 to May 19.
Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that they are considering removing the Taliban from the list of terrorist organizations.
“The Foreign Ministry, along with the Ministry of Justice and other specialized agencies, is actively considering the termination of the Taliban movement’s status as a terrorist organization. The final decision will be made by the country’s top political leadership,” stated the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Russia has economic and political relations with the Afghanistan, and the Afghan Embassy in Moscow is operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of interim government.”
