AT-KABUL: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has pledged to provide food stuff and non-edible items to hundreds of internally displaced families in different Afghan provinces.
According to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Kabul and the National Disaster Management Authority of Afghanistan on Tuesday, Riyadh would provide edible and non-edible items to those families that have been displaced by natural disasters.
The KSA’ finance ministry official, Ahmad Khalid, said that his country is going to provide 95 tons of food items to Afghans, suffered from the natural disasters in a number of provinces.
Deputy Chief of the National Disaster Management Authority, Muhammad Aslam Sayas, said the assistance would be distributed among the displaced families in Baghlan, Badakhshan, Panjshir, Daikundi and Kapisa provinces.
The aid package includes rice, cooking oil, sugar, tea and blankets, he said.
