AT-KABUL: Gunmen torched a school in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday night, an official said Monday.
Emal Khan High School in Mohmand Dara district was attacked by four men around 9:00p.m., Ataullah Khogyani, a spokesman for provincial governor, told 1TV.
They initially tied hands and legs of two guards of the school before they set fire to the library of the school which is located near the district governor’s office, he said.
Authorities reacted quickly and extinguished the fire which burnt half of the library, he added.
There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.
