AT-KABUL: The Counter Narcotic Police (CNP) had arrested dozens of drug traffickers across the country, the Criminal Justice Task Force (CJTF) said on Monday.
The CJTF in a media statement said the traffickers were arrested in Samangan, Kunduz, Baghlan and Kabul provinces during the last two weeks, adding that the detainees were handed over to the CJTF for investigation.
However, the task force had not provided exact numbers of the detained traffickers, questioning credibility of the statement.
The statement further said that more than 425 kilogram opium, 544 liters of alcohol beverages, four cars and seven mobile phones have been seized from the smugglers.
At least 17 drug traffickers have been arrested all over the country in the past one month and have been handed over to CJTF for further investigation.
