AT-KABUL: Nine Taliban insurgents were killed and 19 others wounded in the joint clearance operations across the country in the past 24 hours, ministry of defense said Wednesday.
It said in a statement that the operations were launched by security and defense forces in a number of districts in Laghman, Paktia, Paktika, Wardak, Logar, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Badghis, Balkh, Jowzjan, Faryab, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Sar-e-Pol and Helmand provinces.
“Five insurgents were killed, 11 wounded near the Chak district of Wardak, while two were killed and two wounded in the center of Laghman province,” the statement said.
It added that the defense and security forces killed four armed insurgents and arrested one in the Zurmat district of Paktia, Azra district of Logar, the center of Uruzgan and Marja district of Helmand province.
Security and defense forces will fight the enemies intensively and are ready to give scarifies for bringing lasting peace and stability to people, according to the statement.
