By Farhad Naibkhel-KABUL: Commander of the Kabul Garrison, General Abdur Rahman Rahman, said that measures have been taken to ensure tight security in the capital city as insecurity in the neighboring provinces pose threats to Kabul.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Gen. Abdur Rahman said that security has been beefed up in the capital city, adding that law enforcement agencies were on high alert to avoid any untoward incident.
He said the threats were not so serious but the security forces were ready to respond quickly to terror attacks.
“All Afghan forces including police, army and intelligence personnel are ready to defend the capital bravely and repel insurgent attacks. They will fight till last drop of blood. We will not let the enemies to impose their cruel rule on innocent people in any part of Kabul,” he said.
He assured residents of Kabul that the Taliban could not pose serious threat. The commander said that suicide and terrorist attacks are possible but would be repelled within no time.
The forces would increase activities in different parts of Kabul for better law and order situation, he added. Gen. Abur Rahman also asked residents of Kabul for cooperation to foil terror attacks.
