AT-KABUL: The Afghan security forces recaptured a number of their security posts from insurgents in Jalrez district of central Wardak province, provincial officials said.
These security posts were fallen to the Taliban during their complex attack around two days ago, local officials said.
“These security posts secured during a clearance operation conducted by Afghan security forces in the district,” provincial governor’s spokesman Abdul Rahman Mangal said.
Moreover, he said that Afghan security forces inflicted casualties to the Taliban insurgents in the operation. “Around 15 Taliban militants were killed and wounded in clearance operation.”
Recently, a notorious commander of the Islamic State known as Daesh along with his three associates were killed in an airstrike in central Wardak province.
The ministry of defense said that the airstrike was carried in Sayedabad district of the province.
Recently Afghan and foreign forces had been intensified airstrikes against Daesh fighters across the country, in which scores of the insurgents were killed and wounded.
