AT News Report-KABUL: Members of the Senate strongly condemned British ambassador’s statement regarding the Durand Line, terming it an irresponsible remark.
British ambassador to Kabul, Nicholas Peter Kay has recently called the Durand Line as an internationally recognized border line between Afghanistan and Pakistan—a sensitive issue as the Afghan officials has never recognized this as border between two states, rather it is only a Line, as it comes out from its name (Durand Line).
Senators during their Sunday session, said any decision regarding the Durand Line should be made by the people of Afghanistan, asking the government to make a resolute position and summon British ambassador for explanation.
“No foreign national has the right to make statements on the matter of Durand Line,” said senate speaker, Fazl Hadi Muslimyar.
Moreover, the senators touched the delay in the parliamentary election, saying any delay would harm the government.
Members of the senate also asked the government to assess killing of civilians by two jihadi commanders in the Cah Aab district of Takhar province.
