AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The Senate on Sunday approved a strategic cooperation agreement between Kabul and Ankara.
The agreement was endorsed by Wolesi Jirga—the Lower House of the parliament—in May and later was sent to Meshrano Jirga, the Upper House.
The strategic pact was signed between Afghan and Turkish presidents in Kabul last year in a bid to strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries in different fields, including security, economy, social development, sports and environment protection.
Member of the senate international affairs commission, Humaira Nimati, said the pact includes capacity building of government organizations and training of the Afghan security forces. She added that the accord has 17 articles and has been prepared in Dari, Pashto, English and Turkish languages.
