KABUL: The salaries of at least 15 senior government officials have been postponed as they failed to report and register their private properties, the anti-corruption body says.
“Under the prevention measures of administration corruption, we have so far received 5,200 forms of asset registrations from which, 1,365 are completed,” said Abdul Qayyoum Nezami, head of anti-corruption department.
“We have investigated 650 forms that include 125 senior government officials and are available at the Presidential website.”
Nezami said that the forms of three officials were sent to the attorney general office due to misleading information.
He said that 15 officials have been banned from getting salaries as they did not report and register their assets. “Since the establishment of the body, we postponed the payments of 127 government officials, but 112 of them provided information about their assets.”
He said that they are investigating reports over smuggling of dollars and gold via Kabul airport and the Sher Khan and Hairatan ports to abroad.
