AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Four Taliban insurgents were killed late Saturday night in a US drone strike in Baraki Barak district in central Logar province, official said.
Maulvi Habib-u-Rahman, a senior Taliban commander, and his three associates were killed in drone attack later Saturday night in Chalozai area of the province, Mohammad Rahim Amin, the district chief said. He hoped that after the killing of Maulvi Habib-u-Rahman, the security situation in the district would be improved. He added that the killed Taliban insurgents were active in anti-state activities for few years, and their killing would have a positive impact on maintaining security in the area.
The Taliban insurgents have not yet commented on the incident.
The US-led foreign forces have recently increased their drone attacks against the insurgents across the country.
