Taliban shadow district chief for Pachiragam district was killed along with 11 insurgents in a raid in eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday night, said officials.
National Directorate of Security Special Forces launched a clampdown against Taliban insurgents in Khogiani district, killing 12 militants including the group’s shadow district chief for Pachiragam district, said Governor Spokesman Attaullah Khogiani.
He said that intelligence special unit has conducted operations based on pre-information, where due to ambush of Taliban clashes began in PataiKhargi area of Khogianai district, in which Taliban shadow district governor along with 11 fighters were killed.
Number of commanders and group leader of Taliban were also among killed insurgents, he added.
He stated that some ammunition including AK-47 and grenade bombs also seized during operation by Afghan forces.
No casualty incurred to the security forces and civilians during operation in the area, he underlined.
