KABUL: At least seven members of a family lost their lives after a roof collapsed due to heavy rainfall in the northern Kapisa province, officials said on Saturday.
Provincial Governor Spokesman, Qais Qaderi said that the accident happened in Zindakhil district of Nibjrab district. The death includes women and children.
He said that Kapisa witnessed an unprecedented rainfall this year and that the government had already informed the people about the possible risks.
Earlier, 11 people died in fatal floods in Kohbandi district of Kapisa. The state ministry for natural disaster warned that 22 of 34 provinces would go through heavy rainfall. According to the ministry, the death toll of the recent flash floods rose to 66 people.
