AT-KABUL: Sholgara district police Chief was killed as the result of mine explosion in Balkh province, said a provincial security official.
Shirkhan Durani, for provincial police Chief Spokesman said that Sholgara district police chief was killed and his two bodyguards injured by improvised mine inside their vehicle.
“The mine was improvised in the car belonged to Besmillah Khan, the police chief of Sholgara district and the incident took place in the morning in the way of Mazar-e Sharif,” he added.
He said the injured bodyguards were shifted to the nearby hospital in Balkh province.
Taliban in a statement to the media claimed the responsibility of the explosion and they alleged two police killed in the blast.
