Kabul: SIGAR has once again warned of the negative consequences of banning women from working in relief organizations in Afghanistan.
SIGAR emphasized that, based on their estimate, about 10 million Afghan citizens needed emergency winter aid in 2022-2023, but the delivery of non-governmental aid has been hindered due to restrictions on women’s employment.
According to statistics, after banning women from working in non-governmental organizations and institutions, more than 70% of aid activities to Afghanistan have been stopped, which has had a negative impact on the lives of thousands of needy people in the country.
At the same time, the global pressure to remove the restrictions against women in Afghanistan has peaked. The United Nations has emphasized that this decision of Taliban has affected the lives of millions of people in Afghanistan and has warned of the spread of poverty in the country.
On the other hand, SIGAR had warned in the past that if the ban on women’s work in relief organizations is not lifted, America will stop some of its aid and programs in Afghanistan.
These statements are being expressed that Afghanistan has adopted the prohibition of women’s work in non-governmental institutions based on Sharia interests, and the main reason for this is that Muslim women are protected from the point of view of hijab and chastity.
