Kabul: The Office of the United States Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction “SIGAR” says that the United States has helped Afghanistan with 1.1 billion dollars in the past year.
In the latest case, SIGAR wrote on his Twitter that the US is still the biggest donor to Afghanistan with 1.1 billion dollars.
According to this department, the 1.1 billion dollars of US aid to Afghanistan includes nearly 812 million dollars of aid from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and 320 million dollars of aid from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country, which was provided after August 2021.
According to SIGAR, $326 million of the aid was announced in September.
However, in this one year, Afghanistan has received more than one billion and 673 million dollars, including 18 packages of 40 million and more than 30 packages of 32 million in cash humanitarian aid.
Although earlier this agency announced that the Biden administration blocked the investigation of this institution regarding the 1.1 billion dollars in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
John Sepko, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, referring to US cash aid to Afghanistan since August 2021, said that his office “for the first time in history, due to the non-cooperation of several organizations of the US government, this quarter is not able to provide a complete report of the US government’s expenses to the Congress and the American people”.
