Kabul: The Office of the US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction “SIGAR” announced that at the request of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives, it is investigating the activities of this organization in Afghanistan.
According to this organization, in March of this year, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives asked SIGAR to examine 14 areas related to ongoing U.S. activities in Afghanistan.
SIGAR added that in response to this request, they are initiating three new engagements in Afghanistan.
SIGAR will examine use of appropriated funds to directly benefit Afghan rulers, purchase, transfer, conversion, and use of U.S. currency for activities in Afghanistan, and oversight of public international organizations receiving U.S. funds in Afghanistan.
According to SIGAR, this review will cover the US aid mission from August 2021 to April 2023.
