AT-KABUL: At least six leaders of the Islamic State (IS), aka, Daesh terrorist group were among 47 other militants killed in an air and ground operations carried by the Afghan security forces in Haska Meean and Bati Kot districts of eastern Nangarhar province,” the provincial press office said in a statement. 25 other Daesh fighters were also wounded in operation within past 24 hours, the statement added.
The statement added that two anti-vehicle mines, two machine guns, one 82mm cannon and two depots of Daesh terrorist group were also destroyed during operation.
According to the statement, one PK machine gun, one rocket launcher, two AK47, and 4 motorcycles of the Daesh terrorist were also confiscated by the Afghan security forces.
The killing Daesh fighter comes as recently the group had kicked off recruiting process to bring more fighters in their militancy rank. Hameedullah Hameed, administrative chief for Azra district of Logar province, said that Daesh was recruiting youngsters to swell its ranks in the embattled district.
