KABUL: At least six people – including two children – were killed following an explosion at a local market in Paktika which was mistakenly triggered, according to officials.
The blast happened when an unexplodedordnance went off among a crowd of civilians at a local market in Janikhel district of Paktika province on Monday morning, said the provincial police.
Thewounded have been taken to the district hospital.
A resident who found the explosive in the market attempted to defuse it. But the bomb detonated in a big crow after he couldn’t defuse it, said Paktika police spokesman Shah Mahmood Aryan.
Some of the wounded are reportedly in critical conditions, according to hospital officials, and some have been taken to Kabul for treatment.
