AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: As many as six men held in connection with the suicide bombing in eastern Khost province which left 20 killed and more than 80 others wounded.
A statement issued by the National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Saturday said the arrested terror suspects had links to Haqqani network.
The arrested men are identified as Obaidullah son of Fazlurrahman, resident of Khaiber Pakhtunkhwa, Anwaruddin son of Qiyamuddin and Shakil Rahman son of Habib Rahman residents of Alisher district of Khost province, Abdullah son of Lal Marjan resident of Kandai area of Khost city and Sayed Rahman son of Kamal also resident of Khost.
The statement added that the men have confessed to their crimes.
According to the statement, the suicide attacker who carried out the explosion among civilians in Matun, the provincial capital of Khost province was Ataullah alias Shah Ghulam a resident of Punjab province of Pakistan. The statement said the group had brought Ataullah to Khost’s Alisher district through the instruction from Haqqani network and had handed him over to a Haqqani’s local commander, Anwaruddin.
The statement also said the suicide attacker then was brought to the city for carrying out the attack among the protesters. The attack left 20 civilians killed and at least 62 others wounded on April 2.
