AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Six civilians were shot injured by the Taliban insurgents over an allegation of breaking Ramadan fast in western Herat province, governor spokesman, Jilani Farhad told Afghanistan Times. The shooting took place in Obe district of the province.
“Health condition of the shot people are not critical,” he said.
“I am aware of the attack of the Taliban militants on civilians over alleged breaking of Ramadan fast,” district police chief Sher Aqa Alokozai was quoted by Khaama, as saying.
According to him, the Taliban first shot two civilians and then opened fire on four others accusing them of supporting the two individuals who had broken Ramadan fast.
“Local residents clashed with the Taliban insurgents after they shot six civilians,” eyewitness said, asserting that three Taliban militants were also wounded in clash.
However, there is no immediate comment posted by the group into the matter so far.
