AT-KABUL: The Asian Development Bank is to build a solar power station producing 40 mega watts of electricity in the Hesar Shahi deserts of Nangarhar province, an official for the bank said Monday.
Fazlullah Fazli, a bank official said the project was explained to Nangarhar provincial governor Salim Kunduzi.
“First, we will launch a technical survey in the area. The project’s practical part will begin soon after the survey completes,” Fazli said.
Governor Kunduzi appreciated the Asian Development Bank for launching the project, promising that the provincial government would cooperate with the bank, especially in providing security for the project.
Kunduzi expressed hope that the project could provide electricity in the area as soon as possible.
The industrial parks and some townships are located in the Hesar Shahi desert that will enjoy the solar electricity.
