AT-KABUL: At least 68 Taliban insurgents including forty-two Daesh terrorists group were killed and twenty-one others wounded in different operations launched by the security forces within the past 24 hours across the county, security officials said on Tuesday.
“The national army with the cooperation of the national police and the national directorate of security operatives, conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different districts of Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktia, Logar, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Ghor, Farah, Takhar, Kunduz, Jowzjan, and Helmand provinces,” the defense ministry said in a statement.
“In these operations, 68 insurgents including 42 were killed and 21 others injured,” it said.
“Unfortunately, eleven soldiers were also killed during the clashes.”
The Afghan forces launched a major clearance operation against the loyalists of Daesh terrorist group in Nangarhar province around two months ago.
The operations are still being conducted in the districts where Daesh loyalists are conducting insurgency activities.
