KABUL: Acting Minister of Defense Assadullah Khalid, Resolute Support Commander, General Austin Miller and Deputy Interior Minister Gen. Khoshan Sadat on Tuesday visited eastern Nangarhar province, where they discussed security situation with provincial officials.
According to Khalid, security situation was getting better in Nangarhar, but that does not mean security officials must not take precautions.
“Stay alerted. All of you should remain prepared for all types of security threats,” the minister ordered the officials.
“There are good security coordination’s, but need improvements. Coordination will lead to good decision-making,” Minister Khalid told security leadership of the province.
“You have the authority to conduct independent operations without too much reliance on Kabul,” the minister said.
“Transporting Afghan National Defense and Security Forces martyrs and injuries is one of our top priorities, the told the leadership.
Either from here [Nangarhar] or from Kabul, all assets should be used to transport them home, the minster ordered them.
