KABUL: New cases of coronavirus in Afghanistan have again declined, up just 60, and the health authorities on Saturday called on the Afghan masses to not engage in premature jubilant, rather pay serious head to the health advice to completely halt daily infections.
With 60 new positive cases in the past 24 hours, Afghanistan now officially has 35,289 cases across the country.
The Ministry of Public Health said that out of 194 suspected samples, 60 cases reported positives, a significant decrease in the cases. Unfortunately, 17 patients have lost their lives battling the virus and 72 others recovered in the past 24 hours.
55 positive cases were registered in Kabul, two in Kandahar, two in Nimroz and one in Helmand provinces.
The total deaths now stand at 1,164 and the recoveries to 23,280 across the country since the virus firstly appeared in Herat province.
