AT-KABUL: At least eight people have been killed and 23 others wounded in a suicide blast in southern Helmand province, said an official source.
Omar Zwak, spokesman for Helmand governor office, said that the incident took place on Tuesday evening when a suicide car-bomber detonated his explosives near a police checkpoint in Lashkargah, the capital city of Helmand. The killed people included six civilians and two policemen.
An official in local hospital said that they have received four dead bodies and more than 20 injured people.
No one has claimed the responsibility for the attack so far.
