AT-KABUL: A suicide car bomb rocked southern Helmand province on Monday afternoon, killing five persons including the bomber on the spot and injuring four others including two policemen, a security official said.
“A terrorist riding an explosive-borne car blew it up when stopped in a police checkpoint outside provincial capital Lashkargah at around 04:50 p.m, killing himself and four others including two police and two civilians including a child,” the official told Afghanistan Times but refused to be named. He said more information would be available by authorized official to media after investigation.
Other hand Helmand provincial government spokesman, Omar Zawak, in talks with Afghanistan Times confirmed the blast and said preliminary reports have confirmed two civilians dead and four others including two police injured.
