AT News Report-KABUL: Ministry of Interior (MoI) claimed on Monday that police has cleared Tagab district of Badakhshan province from the militants while launching a successful operation.
In a media statement, the ministry said that four armed Taliban insurgents were killed and nine others injured in the operation. In the independent crackdown of the Afghan National Police, 11 Taliban fighters were arrested and hand over to the relevant officials for interrogation.
Police seized 12 AK-47s, two PKM machine guns, two rocket launchers, one 82mm artillery shell, one machine gun, 19 BM-1 rounds, six rockets, 22 box of machine gun bullets, 19 different types of IEDs, two radio handsets and 18 82mm artillery shell rounds, the statement said.
