KABUL: Taliban fighters launched a complex attack on Darqad district of northeastern Takhar province Sunday night, but it was repulsed by Afghan forces with strong intention, said officials.
“Taliban fighters attacked Darqad district of Takhar province at 8:00pm, who faced to retaliation triggering and pushed back by Afghan security forces,” said a statement issued by Takhar Police Press office.
Statement said that 10 Taliban insurgents were killed and nine others were wounded during clashes.
Three Afghan forces also sustained injuries during retaliation attack in the district, added statement.
Taliban fighter had requested assistance forces from all district of Takhar and two district of Kunduz, but all were defeated, mentioned statement.
According to report number of Taliban reached to 200 during attack on Darqad district, underlined statement.
