AT-KABUL: Militants stormed several government buildings in central Logar province the other night, said local security officials.
Logar police chief, Abdul Hakim Eshaqzai, said that insurgents launched attacks on Charkh and Kherwar districts’ administrative office buildings and a number of military checkpoints in Baraki Barak district and Pol-e-Alam, the capital city of the province.
He added that at least 20 Taliban militants have been killed, and 15 others wounded. Eshaqzai said that three Afghan soldiers have also been killed in the clashes, while five others wounded.
He said that the fighting lasted several hours and the number of dead and wounded people is likely to change.
The Taliban haven’t commented about the attacks so far.
