PESHAWAR: The white-colour with words in black flag of TehrikTaliban Afghanistan also called as Emirate Islami Afghanistan was also visible on the eve of opposition’s Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rally at Peshawar on Sunday.
The PDM rally was largely attended by workers of different political parties despite government’s refusal of permission and blockade of roads throughout the province.
All of PDM components made its best to dominate the audience and for the purpose they also entered in race of hoisting of party flags. One of these flags, hoisted on top of a electricity poles was a white colour flag of Afghan Taliban. The Afghan Taliban considering it national flag of Afghanistan. However, no one noticed this flag, which was also surrounded by other parties flags like of JUI(F), ANP, PPP, PML(N), QWP, PMAP and NP.
Amongst the PDM components ANP, QWP, PMAP and NP are known for its sympathies with the present political process and government in Afghanistan. Though the JUI(F) is known for its ideological links with Afghan Taliban but its leaders have never endorsed violent based resistance in Afghanistan. It seems that some of JUI(F) workers or stalwarts have hoisted the Taliban flag.
So far no any reaction was made by leaders or stalwarts of PDM components over hoisting of Taliban flag in PDM rally against the government.
