Taliban kidnaps 12 civilians in Paktia

AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The Taliban militants kidnapped 12 civilians in Sayed Karam district of the southeastern Paktia province, said a local official.

Niaz Muhammad Khalil, Sayed Karam district chief, told Azadi Radio that the civilians were on their way to Gardiz, the capital city of the province, when they were kidnapped by the Taliban militants.

The Taliban militants confirmed that they have kidnapped the 12 people, but alleged that they were local policemen who wanted to go to Gardiz to collect their salaries.

The incident comes just few days after that Daesh militants beheaded seven hostages in southern Zabul province.
