AT-KABUL: At least 13 civilians were wounded after a Taliban fired a mortar shell hit a residential house in the eastern Nangarhar province, a security official said Friday.
Provincial governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani said the incident took place in the Torghar locality of Batikot district early morning.
“Seven children and two women were among the victims and their health conditions are not good,” Khogyani said.
However, provincial hospital officials confirmed receiving 13 wounded people, saying their health conditions were stable.
The Taliban insurgents have not commented regarding the report.
It’s worthy to mention a mortar fired by the Taliban militants left at least seven members of a family dead last month in northern Baghlan province.
The incident took place in Baghlan-e-Markazi district after the mortar round hit a residential house.
