AT-KABUL: The Taliban insurgents have freed six tribal elders who were kidnapped two days ago by the group in eastern Logar province, officials said on Tuesday.
Six tribal elders were kidnapped by the Taliban fighters on Sunday in Hazra district of Logar province. After two days in captivity, the elders were released last night.
The tribal elders were released after mediation of local people, the governor’s media office said today (Tuesday).
The motive behind the kidnapping is not clear that why the Taliban fighters had abducted the elders.
Logar is among the insecure provinces. Taliban insurgents are active in remote districts of the province.
