AT-KABUL: At least 13 militants, including the Taliban shadow governor for Laghman province, have been killed in an operation conducted by operatives of the National Directorate of Security (NDS).
A press statement issued by the NDS here on Tuesday said that the Taliban shadow governor for Laghman, Amin Jan Kochai, was among the 13 militants in a military operation in Marochina, an area between Achin and Ghanikhel district of eastern Nangarhar province.
The statement added that Kochai was involved in subversive activities in Laghman province, including suicide bombing during funeral ceremony of a policeman and other terror attacks in Alingar district of Laghman.
It termed Kochai as a serious threat to security of the eastern provinces of Afghanistan.
Kochai is the fourth Shadow governor of the Taliban killed by the NDS operatives in the past two months across the country.
