Kabul: Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has dismissed reports of a nighttime curfew, labeling the circulated document on the matter as “false” and “fake” in a message to media. Mujahid emphasized that the “imposition of a nighttime curfew falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defense.”
Earlier a letter circulated on some media which indicated that the Afghan Ministry of Defense instructed its intelligence division to enforce restrictions on public movement after 10 p.m. starting from early summer. The directive, dated May 26, mandates these restrictions in both central and district areas.
