KABUL – The Taliban have surrounded the offices of the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) in Kabul and interrogated its employees, according to a source. The incident, which took place nearly three weeks ago, led to the suspension of INSO’s operations in the Afghan capital.
During the raid, Taliban intelligence services reportedly questioned the staff. INSO, known for providing safety and security support to humanitarian organizations, operates offices in major cities, including Herat, Kandahar, Balkh, and Nangarhar.
The organization has not publicly commented on the situation or responded to requests for information.
INSO, founded in 2011 and based in The Hague, emerged from Afghanistan’s complex political landscape, where NGOs face ongoing security threats. The motivations behind the Taliban’s actions remain unclear at this time.
