Kabul: The Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Taliban interim government has announced that due to the technical maintenance and the repair of the passport department’s tools and equipment, the distribution process will be stopped from the 8th of October.
On Friday night, this ministry has written a newsletter that the passport department intends to bring a series of positive changes in the technical systems and equipment of this department to improve the process of providing services and speeding up the work steps for the clients.
According to this newsletter, due to the fact that four to five thousand passport covers are distributed to applicants in the Central Passport Office, the printing machines and technical equipment of this office have lost their efficiency over time and need to be repaired.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior has noted that until the completion of the work of the technical teams and the repair of equipment and tools, the process of distributing passports has been stopped and the clients should not refer to the passport office until further notice.
