KABUL: A Taliban suicide bomber killed at least two people and wounded 26 others, including 20 students on Wednesday morning when he set off explosives in a Mazda model vehicle in first check point of Ali Shing district’s police headquarter of Laghman province.
Two police officer were martyred and six others wounded in the bombing, said Provincial Governor Spokesman Assadulalh Dawlatzai.
Moreover, at least 20 students of a religious Madrasa, which is located near to the police headquarter, were also wounded due to broken of window glasses, he added.
“In an immediate move, the wounded people have taken to hospital for treatment.”
Taliban spokesman in a statement claimed responsibility for the attack.
The attack came during a relative lull in violence after a presidential election last month that saw a surge in attacks by the Taliban, who denounced the vote as a sham. The United Nations said 85 civilians were killed and 373 others wounded in election-related Taliban violence.
